Good morning! 10:07 and 88 degrees at the moment. I have a hell of a time with these heat waves. My downstairs is nice and cool, but the upstairs is always about 20 degrees warmer. I got the bright idea yesterday to move all the stuff in the bedroom away from the vent. Seemed like the air was getting trapped. It didn't quite work, but I think it was just the extreme heat.
I remembered my Mom commenting on how people would leave their furniture the way it was for 20 years. She was the antithesis of this, always changing things around just for the sake of variety.. This is the first such change I've made since moving in here- 26 years ago. And it will probably stay as it is now for another 26 years. But at least I made a change. And got some exercise..
The worst room in my house as far as weather extremes is my Music Room, aka The Laboratory. As luck would have it, it's the room I spend the most time in. No central air, just a funky window unit. I've got a heater for the cold days, and a fan for the hot ones. Still managing to practice- the show must go on- and might even have something YouTube-worthy to share.
Well it would appear that I don't have much in the way of news today. Just domestic stuff, dealing with the elements. Plenty to do today. I've got a guitar that needs practicing and a bedroom that needs more re-arranging. Also working on releasing some of my newer home-recorded stuff, or at least assembling it into some kind of album.
Looking forward in this next month or so to getting together with other musicians. I have a bass player and drummer on the one hand, and a former band on the other. I love working solo, but still need to connect with other humans. So we'll see what gives...
And that's all I've got for you for the moment. Thanks as ever for stopping in and reading. Happy Tuesday to you! Lumosity and coffee cup #2 await. Ich bin outa here. More later.
Today's pic is of one of my guitars. I don't know the model name but it's a Gretsch, patterned somewhat by the Gibson ES series. I've got heavier strings on this one, and have wussed out of playing it until just recently. Getting to like the bigger strings as they give you a bigger sound. Today's tune is from a new album of mine called Big Hair, Big Dreams. It's called Clear Skies Hope you like it.
