Good evening! 9:35 in the pm on this slightly frustrating day. I've been waiting for two days for streaming results from CD Baby, Jeopardy was pre-empted by Golf(!), and I lost the post I just wrote here. In the Grand Scheme of Things, mere mosquito bites- but irritations just the same. Especially Jeopardy...
Music news. I've been getting back on with the guitar this week, after a period spent in the Music Lab. Two new posts on YouTube, which are both on my FB page. Lots of new music in this last month, most or all of it up on the Music page here at samcrain.com. I think I had a lot to get out of my system. Music is great for that. Some of this new crop is a little weird, but it all aims to communicate. Some of it you could even dance to.
As far as future releases, at least two people now have suggested to me that I do a Greatest Hits album, a Best Of. Sounds like a good idea. Maybe 10-12 tunes, each from a different CD. I have a couple albums now that are compilations: my "Jazz Guitar" albums, except for the first one. They've done pretty well, so it seems viable.
I've also got a compilation of all trio stuff, in different instrumentations; 2 guitars and bass; guitar, bass and drums; guitar, keyboard and drums. It's been five years since I've done an album with other folks on it, so it's probably high time to take one or the other or both of these options.
These are things I thought you guys might like. I try to be true to myself in my music, but I'm also thinking of the listener's perspective. Who would listen to this stuff? So I try to make it all listenable.
