Friday

Good morning! Just comin' on nine o'clock this side of noon. Sunny skies out there today, always helps the climate in here. Getting colder by the minute though. I've got my space heaters and thermal underwear all on standby. I was without heat for a brief time last year, and bought an array of space heaters which I had set up strategically around the house. Comfort zones, as it were...

Music news. Still in crazy prolific mode. I've been working in the Music Lab the past couple days, and have an array of short funky pieces for guitar and whatever. Also a few more electronic pieces that are deeply weird. I've got a Music page on the site where I keep about 40 tunes. Need to get in there and update today.

This has been my most prolific year ever. Six new albums! I've even got a seventh one which I may let go of before the year's out. It's called Twelve Twisted Tales of 2020 and consists of 12 short pieces, all fairly nutty in one way or another. They're not set up to be a commentary on the year--even though one selection is titled Orange Mussolini--but rather to show the neurotic depths to which someone can fall in a year like this.

I should add here that I don't usually sit down with the intent or writing something "weird" or "normal" Your result is usually kind of forced, contrived and doesn't feel right in one way or another. . I just try to be receptive to whatever I'm feeling, From there, it just turns out the way it turns out. And from there, it goes in the normal or weird piles--or perhaps straight into the circular file.

Still trying to keep up on the guitar as well. I've been practicing most every day, and even taping a few things, but haven't had anything that passed muster as far as sharing. I've gotten better over the past couple years, finally having the time to practice. The thing about that is that you never really arrive, to where you no longer have to put in the practice time. With improved skills, you have to practice that much more to maintain them! At least that's been my experience.

So that's life on this Friday. Thanks as ever for stopping in and reading. Happy Friday to you! Until next time, I'm outa here. More later.

Today's pic is a view of the office. This area of the room is what I call the Music Laboratory. The guitar in the foreground is a Takamine electric. Got it from Walko's back in the 80s. I've had a little work done on it, and it plays and sounds just fine. I call it my Ventures guitar...
