Good morning! It's about 8:30 on this mostly sunny Friday. My cat and my coffee cup are both in their places as I clear away the cobwebs and get ready for another big day here.
Music news. It's way off in the future, but I do have Friday, November 6th at Robbie's, with Rob Killam and Dave Pruitt(and probably our various guests on the second set).. Robbie's has been sold, I would imagine effective this coming January. Hope the new owners will want to continue to host the Uptown Friday Night series. But even if not, I'd figure it would continue elsewhere.
Between Robbie's and the various Nursing Home/Assisted Living Centers, and an occasional date with the Samba Llamas, that's pretty much all I've been doing as far as music jobs. I don't think the Nursing facilities will be having live music for a good long while. Those were fun. I'm going to miss playing for the old folks.
Becoming an 'old folk' myself as far as that goes. Most places are too crowded, too noisy, and too late at night for me to consider.. Fortunately, making music is still as much fun as it ever was. And I still love sharing it. So I've just had to make some adjustments. Much more from the home base- which, strangely enough, coincides with these 'stay at home' directives we're all going through. Likewise, I've wanted to do private jam sessions for years, and I have two such get-togethers planned for the near future.
I had a couple good sessions on the guitar yesterday, and did some taping. I've yet to listen back, but there may be something in there that's YouTube-worthy. Still trying to keep that up to date. And that's about all I've got for now. Thanks as ever for stopping in and reading. Happy Friday to you(especially if you've worked all week)! I'm outa here. More later.
