Mittwoch

Good morning! It's Wednesday, about 9:08 this side of noon. Another undecided day out there, hope it decides to be sunny. Working on that first cup of Morning Elixir as I bring the day into focus. Cindy, my quadraped housemate, normally in the chair next to me,  is enjoying her new Barrio. It's a comforter blanket laying on the floor in the bathroom. Two seconds from downtown(the music room), two seconds from a Rest Area(bedroom). Location location location.  The only downside is that she has to go all the way through the house to get fed

Music news. Boy howdy! Yesterday was a very productive day here in the Music Lab. Lots of new music, and some fixes to a few things I did last week. So today or tomorrow, I'll sit down and remix all of it, see if we've got anything worth sharing. These creative periods always have a point where the energy starts to wane- my Muse is in the process of leaving- which means it's time to stop and take account of what we've got. As usual, whatever works I share. I've even got a few things with a "normal" and 'abnormal' version.. So- more music to come!

As a musician, I consider myself to be both a writer and player(and teacher, when I have any students). And I kind of alternate between playing and writing. Hard to do them concurrently, as something always suffers. Coming to the end of a creative binge, though, I'm getting back into the guitar. So, more guitar stuff to come. Still favoring the cherry-red Epiphone guitar.

My musical training, strangely enough, has been much more to do with the craft of music composition. I've had three private teachers along the way: one in Boston, one in Michigan, and one at Peabody Conservatory in Baltimore. As far as the guitar, a couple years of lessons at Walko's, two lessons with Rick Haydon at SIU Edwardsville, and one lesson with Joshua Breakstone in New York. Largely self-taught. This is probably why my writing is a lot weirder than my playing.

So that's a little more about me- maybe more than you wanted to know. Anyway, I'm hanging in there just like you. Eventually, I'll have a job someplace that I can invite you guys to. For now, hanging tough here in the Lab. I love sharing, so there'll be something or other....

Okay! That's my news for now. Thanks as ever for stopping in and reading. Happy Hump Day to you, however you choose to celebrate it. I'm outa here. More coffee. More later.
