Guten morgen! It's about 8:30 on this Buckel Tag. I had to look up the German word for hump, but there it is. Up earlier than usual. Yesterday was about eight and a half hours' sleep, and today is just shy of seven.
There is definitely a qualitative difference between 7 and 8 hours of sleep. Eight hours or better just has that extra chill to it. With nine, I'm practically invertebrate. 7 hours doesn't have that luxury built in, but it's enough to fuel me. That and a couple cups of coffee. Off and running. Well, briskly walking...
Music stuff. This Saturday is a two-hour job downtown, from 5 to 7 in front of the Old State Capitol building. There are some bands that will be playing at 7th and Washington a bit later. May be tricky getting in and out of there, but the two hours of playing should be fun. Dreading getting there, but looking forward to the music.
I will have some CDs on hand, in case anybody wants to buy one. Online they go for around $10 but I sell 'em at half-price when I'm playing someplace. Since the Pandemic, I've made some more music here in the Lab, and even released a live quartet album- two different gigs with the Sam Crain Quartet back in 2004.
And I've got some new music that I'd like to put together and send out into the world. I had some major struggles earlier this year getting The Sam Crain Quartet off and running. Maybe two months or so of edits and revisions. It was a difficult birth, as it were. That wore me out a bit, but I'm back at it.
Much of my new stuff is on the Music page of my website. Mostly streams, but I always try to keep a few free downloads in there as well.
Today promises to be a good music day here in the Lab. If I come up with anything, I'll be glad to share. Still keeping the YouTube page going, now up to a whopping 132 subscribers.
I had some other stuff I was going to get into, but we're already at that point in the post where I'm asking myself 'is anybody gonna read this sh*t'? Next time. For now, thanks for stopping in and reading. I appreciate it. Happy Hump Day to you! Ich bin outa here. More later.
