Good morning! It's about 8:45 on this sun n' clouds Saturday. Being retired and all, I haven't set my alarm clock in seven years. My cat tries to tell me when it's time to wake up, which is always a little bit ahead of things(but, to her credit, never before sunup). She gets my crabby voice, and leaves me alone for a awhile--the equivalent of a snooze button. Eventually, I'm up and at 'em, making coffee and feeding her ass, at which time she's ready to go back to bed. And I'm more or less ready for the day's adventures.
Music news. One new selection up on YouTube, from yesterday's session. Rhythm Changes in D. Rhythm changes are chord changes which are similar to those in George Gershwin's song I Got Rhythm(from his Opera Porgy and Bess)and are a common template for improvisation. 12-bar blues(and its variants), Cherokee, All the Things You Are, are some others.
Jamey Aebersold has a playalong recording with Rhythm Changes in all 12 keys. Some are Latin, some swing, and a variety of tempos. I think that's something I tackled awhile back, and have a file on my YouTube page devoted to it. Just go to Playlists, and then Created Playlists and you've arrived.. You'll probably find all kinds of stuff once you get in there.. I've got one on a great pianist from Romania: Marian Petrescu, Romania's Oscar Peterson. And a number of guitarists, naturally.
As far as my recorded music, you can find it on the Music and My Wares pages on my site. Music for single tunes and My Wares for albums. This has been a very productive year for albums. As far as productivity, it's either feast or famine with me. I produced one new CD in 2013, the year I left my job; then another in 2015, 3 in 2018, 1 last year, and 4 this year so far. Currently in feast mode...
And this is all I can come up with for the moment as far as news. Thanks as ever for stopping in and reading. Happy Saturday to you! I'm outa here. More later.
