Good morning! Just this side of ten on this rainyass Tuesday. But then, in the workweek scheme of things a rainyass Tuesday beats a rainyass Monday. At least you're now 1/5 into your week.
Music news. I mentioned yesterday some of the driveway/back porch concerts going on. The Emerald Underground did a particularly nice set. Everyone played well, but violinist Joe Kath really showed me something. Likewise the Matthew Curry band from Peoria. Curry is a singer/songwriter who plays a left-handed Strat. He's quite a good guitarist as well. I don't know him, but I do know his bass player and keyboardist and have played more than a few gigs with them over the years. This is stuff I posted yesterday, but nobody read it, so here goes once again.
As for me, I'm still in there pitching. YouTube gets a new one every few days. Still putting in some time every day on the gitbox. Quite often I tape something, but sometimes I just work on technique. I devise many of my own exercises, since I know my own weak spots. And I try to be kind of a hardass with myself, making sure the exercises are nice and gnarly. This I describe as the Castor Oil part of the session. Picking exercises are much like abdominal exercises: grueling as hell, but necessary.
My regular exercise program always ends with the abs. Two sets of leg-lifts. Hate 'em, but they help keep my "Dad body' in some kinda shape. I'm glad to see the Fit Club re-opening. I've missed my Cardio these past couple months. And it's showing around my middle.
I've been sharing some of my earlier stuff, much of which is on a couple different YouTube pages. CD Baby, the company I go through to sell my wares, is not doing physical CDs, and hasn't since March. But you can still submit download-only recordings, and they still send your stuff all over the place- including YouTube! They're not what they were back in the early 2000s, but then neither is the recording industry. Still, they do a good job of getting your stuff out there.
And that's all the monkey business I'm up to at the moment. Thanks as ever for stopping in and reading. Happy rainyass Tuesday to you! I'm outa here. More later. .
