Tuesday

Good morning! About a quarter after nine on this overcast Tuesday. Still waking up too early. The morning coffee brings me to a point of functionality, from which I can trudge through the day. This will pass sooner or later. The last one of these periods was back in April, so I'm not doing all that badly.

Music news. I am in the process of finishing up an album. Two cuts to remix, and we're there. It's straight-ahead jazz, all originals. And all me doing it: guitars, bass, keyboards. Most of my things these days are download only, but the straight-ahead stuff I still like to make CDs. I figure more people buy them, and it gives me something to sell at gigs- whenever that may be. And I've wised up as far as quantities. Still boxes of unsold CDs laying around, but they're at least smaller boxes...

I'm also working on a Greatest Hits album, at the suggestion of at least 2 different people. Something from each CD. Being as that I have 35 CDs out now, this would be a multi-volume affair. I'm figuring that this will be something folks might want to pick up, so CD format again here. A bigger project, so it will take a bit more time. But it keeps me out of trouble.

Glad to see people enjoying the YouTube videos. There are quite a few in there, thanks to CD Baby. They've set up a couple different pages, which are even updated. So I'll continue finding you guys something to listen to. And I'll have more guitar videos as well.

Skimpy as it is, that's my news for now. Working on that second cup of coffee. Thanks as ever for stopping in and reading. Happy Tuesday to you! I'm outa here. More later.

Today's pic goes back to 1973 or so. The group was called Jazz Workshop, and we played at the Curve Inn on Sunday afternoons. Frank Murrill on congas, John Piper on drums, John Gibson on flute, and me on guitar. Marty Nagel was somewhere nearby, as that's his piano. Bruce Hart was our bassist. He's somewhere nearby as well.
