Tuesday Welding

Good morning! Just this side of nine, another beautiful day on tap. A beautiful day if you're a Duck! Back here in grisly reality, another desolate rainy day. That s been the menu all week. I've also been waking up early every day since Sunday, so I'm in about the same state as the weather. Well, sunny days lie ahead, as well as that extra hour of sleep.

Music news. I have a performance on Thursday with the SHS Jazz Band. It's at Douglas Park and starts at 5:30. I will be playing on the second set. The band will be safely ensconsed in the Bandshell, but the audience may get soaked. So we'll see. But it should be a nice, relaxed time making music with the kids.

I was asked to do this because I'm a Springfield High School alum. Class of 72. I was also asked to come by some afternoon and play for some of the students, a sort of Master Class. This I'm also glad to do, but will need to figure out a game plan of some sort.

In other music news, I have a new recording. It's called Homebody Guitar. The cover pic is my red Epiphone guitar on the back porch. All the music was made here in the Music Lab: guitars, keyboards and percussion. One of the tunes got screwed up. It's called Q and A, and has the wrong audio. Other than that, everything is off and running. (Almost seems like there has to be a problem of some kind!)You can find it in all the usual places, and I'll be sharing a few things on Facebook.

I'm even working on yet more music here in the Lab. I had a pretty good week of recording and have some more to share. Not everything works in these sonic experiments, but I usually have at least a few survivors. And then out of that, I might have a couple worth charging money for. My own sort of Natural Selection..

Lastly, some recommended reading. Just finished a Mozart biography, written by Marcia Davenport. She was born in 1903, wrote this book in 1932, and died in 1996. A nice long life. Glad that she lived long enough to see the movie Amadeus. After reading her book, I know there are some inaccuracies in the movie. For one thing, Mozart's student, Herr Sussmayr, finished the Requiem, not Salieri. Anyway. Watch the movie and then read the book!

Okay. We're at that point once more. Thanks for stopping in and reading. Happy Tuesday to you! For now, ich bin outa here. More later.
