un-manic Monday

Good morning! It's about 9:20 here in the best of all possible worlds. I've been up about an hour and am still dusting off the cobwebs. Even with a perfect night's sleep, I'm still a slow starter in the morning. I remember one occasion, back in married days, when I was having my morning coffee getting ready for work. My stepdaughter was sitting at the table with me, and out of frustration trying to get me to talk(or listen to her), shook the table so my coffee would spill. Boy, some memories just stay with you forever. I'd love to meet her kids someday, just so I can tell them what a trip their Mom was..

Music news. Well for starters, I'm glad to see The Music Shoppe open for business. Doug Antonacci, the owner, was a bass student of mine back in the days of Walko Music Co. He sent me an email when he opened his first store, Daddy O's, in Laketown. I was flattered.to say the least. . Glad to see him off on another venture. Walko's begat the Rock Shop when it closed, which in turn begat the Music Shoppe. With the shutdown of the past couple months, I've got a few things that need fixing. Welcome back!

My YouTube page now has 97 subscribers. Still having a lot of fun with the page, and getting a few messages from folks who've listened. Nothing new for today(hey, I tried!), but still plenty of listening. Go to Playlists and then Created Playlists for more stuff, including some gigs, and duos with a bass player- see Sam and Raj. Looks like I'm gonna make 3 digits with the subscriptions. A small victory, but I'll still take it.

I'm starting to put more stuff on my regular website, on the Music page. Trying to keep things fresh. The Music page is all singles, and My Wares is where I keep the albums. This has been a crazy prolific year for CDs, with 4 new recordings so far. As far as productivity, it's either feast or famine with me. Chowing down this year,...

And that'll do it for this installment. Time for that second cup of coffee(out of three and change), and my second morning ritual: Lumosity. Every day I get a 'training packet' of five games(which I can change)designed to work different cognitive areas like Memory, Problem-solving, Attention. Lots of fun, but also exasperating. Just as with practicing the guitar, I'm often my own worst critic. But it's necessary to exercise the mind, especially as you get older.

Anyway! Thanks as ever for stopping in and reading. Happy Monday to you! I'm outa here. More later.
