Greetings, whoever-reads-this! A dark and rainy day today--an Edgar Allan Poe sort of day-- perfect for those who actually like dark rainy days. I think the polite term for them is pluviophile. They're enjoying all this, even wallowing in it. Glad somebody's happy..
I woke up about two hours earlier than I should've. So there's the wired energy from only 6 hours of sleep, plus the rain. To its credit, the rain has stopped, at least for the moment, leaving just the sleep deprivation. Making something out of a day like this is like trying to make a dollar out of fifteen cents(and I'm not even Chinese!), but still somehow doable.
Music News. Still at it. I just posted a new video up on my YouTube page: https://www.youtube.com/@Picker286/videos. I'm up to a whopping 596 subscribers at the moment. Woo hoo!
A couple of my guitars have developed string buzzes- which makes the guitar sound more like a Sitar in those spots. This just means that the frets need to be filed down. For someone who knows how to do it, it's a pretty simple procedure. I've had this done many times over the years. My go-to folks used to be at the Rock Shop. Since then, I've had pretty good luck with The Music Shoppe out there in Parkway Pointe as far as repairs.
Having a working digital camera, I'm once again able to make music videos. The damn thing used to just shut off after a couple minutes, but now it gives me all the time I need. This is better for the creative process, having the time to stretch out. The only downside is that I end up with a million music videos. They grow like kudzu on my page.
I don't have any projects going at the moment, just practicing and playing here in the Music Lab. And still sharing the results on my YouTube page. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCOhY7dNUZE6oBg6QyQF-g2g is a page to check out as far as my recordings.
The COVID years brought a lot out of me as far as making albums. Crazy prolific. I have a feeling that this period we're in now will yield similar results. And with that, I might just take a break today from the news. It'll still be here tomorrow..
Thanks as ever for stopping in and reading. Much love! More later.
