Friday

Good morning! 9:29 and 3 degrees here at the end of the workweek. I have a job tonight from 5:30 to 7:30, which I initially turned down but later decided to just bite the bullet and  do. It's really a short distance from the house, so even getting there shouldn't be all that terrible- especially taking the time to warm up the vehicle.

All this happens in about seven hours. I'll be at Boone's, with Ocean State. Always glad to sub with them, although I wish it were later in the year. Besides playing in the band for two and a half years, I always have a place to be on Thanksgiving and Christmas. So this is a favor they can call in. Not too many damn times in the cold, but at least this once...

And I have one more job this month, on the 20th. José Gobbo and myself. This Monday we pick it back up, with what will be our third session. The past two have been a lot of fun, and I'm sure this third one will follow suit. This will be at the 3sixteen Wine Bar in Chatham. From all indications, we should have a better day as far as the weather. 6 to 9. just us guys and our guitars.

After all this time off, I was in dire need of playing with other musicians. Glad this is happening, with tonight's thing and my duo gig. I still love working solo here in the Lab, and plan to do more--especially in the Winter-- but you've gotta get out of your room every now and then.

That's all I've got for the moment. Hope to get into a creative binge or two here in the Lab over the next couple months. I do have another gig, on May 6th at Boone's.  And we may get another shot at playing Anchors Away, preferably in one of the warmer months. Moving into the new year..

Thanks as ever for stopping in and wading through all this. Happy Friday to you! For now, I'm outa this place. More later.

PS Today's pic goes back to 1985. Houston TX. On the road with the band Scoundrel.  Today's tune is from my album Tele-ology. It's based on the old standard Lover Come Back to Me.
