Guten morgen! Just coming on 9 o'clock on this Hump Day. Considerably nippier but still bright and sunny- which, to me, trumps a warmer but darker day. My cat and I are both at our "battle stations"- me on the computer and her in the chair next to me, just in case I might want to drop by. Generally, if she's facing me in the chair, she wants attention. Or she'll tap me on the shoulder. Seriously...
Cannabis news. Really, I just wanted to see that in print. But there is a new dispensary here in Spiffld. It's on Verizon Drive, which is just off Dirksen Pkwy and back aways. The old Hooters. You can also get there from the highway, which I think is rt 29. Just like the downtown location, you order online and set a time to pick up your product. Unlike the store on Adams St, this one has a showroom of various cannabis products for you to check out while waiting for your order. Nice helpful staff on hand to answer questions. Might've been cool to keep the old Hooters girls to work in the showroom, but really it would be too distracting. Nobody- at least none of us guys- would pay any attention to the various products.
Strangely enough, I found myself worrying a bit about the various homeless people who now hang around outside the Adams St location. Used to always bring a couple extra bucks for them. Hope people are still using that location.
Music news. About damn time, right? My new album is still the top story. Near-Miracle on 33rd Street.. The link provided will take you to the album's website, which enables you to listen to any of the cuts in their entirety- and, if so desired, purchase any or all of the cuts through a variety of digital companies: Spotify, Deezer, Amazon et al.
My YouTube page is fairly well-stocked. I've been doing a few standards in there: Gone with the Wind, Like Someone in Love, Blue Moon. I do Blue Moon as a solo piece. Being as we have a stay-at-home order through the end of the year, I'll probably get a lot more studio stuff underway. Also been putting in more keyboard solos, as I've gotten better chops from all this messing around.
So that's what's going on around here. Like most everybody else, I'm watching the news as this crazy year rages on. I have a number of conservative friends who voted Orange and don;t accept the current results., And I try and take a "hate the sin, love the sinner' approach here. Keep them on as friends, but just get rid of the rhetoric. We still share humor, family stuff and music posts, plus pictures of cool guitars. I'm real tired of the divisiveness that's gripped our country. Let's move on, already..
Okay. We've reached that time again. Time for that second cup of coffee, and my other morning activity- Lumosity. I get a 'training pack' every day of 5 games(which I can change)utilizing memory, problem-solving and other cognitive stuff. Fun but sometimes grueling. Necessary maintenance though.
