Oh No! Snow!!!

Good morning and bah humbug! It's currently 9:39 and 27 degrees here in the best of all possible worlds. Really nothing to complain about, past the knee-jerk reaction to the snow. . A thin layer of it, very shovel-able(?), and a  manageable temperature. I still hate Winter, but it's got me broken in..

Music news. My new album Sonorities releases tomorrow. It should be up on YouTube and available for streaming or download at the usual places. Lots of guitar and keyboard work, and I even dug out the old Ibanez 5-string bass for a few of the selections.

On Thursday of this coming week, José Gobbo and I will be playing at the 3sixteen Wine Bar in Chatham. 6 to 9. Jazz standards, and whatever. My new guitar buddy.

This is the last gig I'm doing until the Spring. No shit, I mean it this time.. I'd planned on re-surfacing then, but these things happen. Ironic for such a staunch enemy  of Winter that I worked on January 7th--a very cold day--and am working on another very cold day this Thursday. My two gigs for January ended up being on the coldest days possible..

Weather allowing, I still plan on making a few trips to make music with a few folks. These guitar duos have been a lot of fun. Likewise a few trips to make music with my former neighbor who now resides in the more upscale West Side. Hibernating, but still staying connected.

Not much else going in the way of news. On the domestic front, I've been stocking up on supplies. For the past two years, I've been enjoying our dispensaries for these needs. Much like grocery shopping anymore. But I decided to give my old budtender a call this time, speaking of connections.

It takes a LOT longer---patience has never been my strong suit--but is much more economical. And we have a better conversation than I get at the dispensary. Plus I might get a look at a cool guitar he's just picked up.

So much for comparison shopping. Thanks as ever for stopping in here and reading all(or at least most)of this. Happy Saturday to you! For now, I'm outa here. Things to do. And snow to shovel--eventually.

PS today's pic goes back to 1985. Corpus Christi, Texas. I was a road musician in those days. Enjoying a day most unlike the one we're enjoying right now.
