Saturday

Good morning! It's about 8:40 in the a.m. on a Saturday that just can't be beat. Indian Summer is my favorite season-within-a-season. Glad it's still sticking around. We'll begin our descent into Winter soon enough.

Music news. First off, I just want to say that I'm enjoying the various home concerts people are putting up on Facebook. They help keep a sense of community in a time when it's sorely needed. So a big attaboy(or attagirl, as the case may be)to everyone who's sharing their wares on FB!

As for me, I've always got something up my sleeve, not unlike Bullwinkle or Pegwell Pete(sp?). I remember being on the Pegwell Pete show as a kid, maybe nine years old, along with a friend who had been on before and was a bit of a troublemaker. Pete came up to us right before the show, and told him, "You better behave today, you little bastard!" That was pretty funny at nine, and a lot funnier as a memory years later.

Jim Gomes was the friend. I don't hear from him much anymore, but we got back in touch some years back, when I was still working for the State. I have a much better Gomes story than the one I just told, but it'll keep. Having said that, I'm sure there are a few Crain stories floating around...

Anyway! Music news. What I've got up my sleeve. There is a project I've been working on here and there, called 'Twelve Twisted Tales of 2020', 12 vignettes on synthesizer, some of which are pretty 'out there'. One of the pieces is called Orange Mussolini, which people will either love or hate depending on their political orientation.

I also have a sort of Fusion/Smooth album, with lots more keyboard work. My keyboard chops have gotten better from all this messing around, and it adds variety. This will emerge sooner or later. Feast or famine with me. So I'm trying to take advantage of the current feast.

Skimpy as it may be, that's my news for today. Thanks as ever for stopping in and reading. I do appreciate it! And a happy Saturday to you as well! I'm outa here. More later.

PS Today's pic was taken in November 1995, in Ashikaga Japan. Me, Brian Pryor, Frank Trompeter, Dave Burdick, Tim Harte. We spent a week in Japan, along with two other local groups. It  was a great experience.
