Thursday

Good morning! It's 9:22 and 9 degrees on this frigid Winter Thursday. Got on my thermal dermis-which, except for bathing, will stay on me until sometime in March. As usual, we're getting walloped in this first week of January. Just two more days though, and temperatures return to something bearable. Hopefully..

Hope, according to Greek Mythology, was the only thing to remain in Pandora's Box after everything else had been picked over. It's what gets me through Winter every year, along  with space heaters and extra layers of clothing..

Music news. Tomorrow from 5:30 to 7:30 at Boone's, with Ocean State. Thursday, January 20, at the 3sixteen Wine Bar in Chatham, with José Gobbo.  Those are my Winter gigs. Both of them. Hope to see you at either or both of these events!

On May 6th, The Sam Crain Trio returns to Boone's. Just as at Robbie's, I'll open up the second set a bit to allow a few folks to sit in. Hopefully--there's that word again---we'll have the Men Under 5'8" going, which is me and Mark Russillo and Frank Parker.

The only work I'm looking for at all these days would be with the trio- and maybe quartet, budget allowing. Not looking for sideman work anymore. Wanna do my own thing. Too old and tired to work for anyone else..

This long layoff has gotten me very settled into my retirement. It's now much harder to get out of the house. But I still need the human contact, so there will still be trips out to play someplace. I guess that's what I'm doing tomorrow, even though I would've preferred it on a warmer day.

So more music to come. Mostly from in here, but occasionally out there. Off and running with this new year. Thanks as ever for stopping in and wading through all this. Happy freezing Thursday to you! For now, ich bin outa here. More later.
