Thursday

Good morning! It's about 8:30 here in the best of all possible worlds. This is a little earlier than I usually post, but it was one of those nights. Woke up from a sound sleep at 0-dark-hundred to use the bathroom and it was freezing! Ran back to the bedroom to grab a blanket, which probably woke me up more than I needed.  I might've reached the Land of Nod a time or two after that, but it was mostly dozing. So there's some fuel in the tank, just not as much as I'm used to. . This is where coffee does its magic..

Music news. I'll probably have something for YouTube today. A faster version of Stella by Starlight, which I called Bella by Bar Light. Stepping up the guitar practicing. I still use playalongs as part of my practice routine(which is where the YouTube videos come from), but also spend some time with just me and the metronome. Scales and arpeggios in all 12 keys. And I actually set the metronome slower than I'm comfortable with. Feels torturous, but that's the way you build control. I've put up a couple of instructional videos as far as exercises for guitar. Maybe I should do more of them..

In other music news, my new CD Near-Miracle on 33rd Street will be up on Spotify on November 1st- and from there, I figure, to the other digital companies out there. It's been ages since I did a CD Release Party for something of mine. We've done two though; for Rose of Loami and Bird's-Eye View, and both of them at Robbie's.(I miss Robbie's!) You can hear all the selections on my Sam Crain & Friends page on Facebook.. And I have the physical CDs, 100 of them at the moment. $12.50 if I mail it to you, $10 if you come by the house to pick it up. PM me if interested.

And that's all my news for now. Thanks as ever for stopping in and reading. Happy Thursday to you! For now, I'm outa here. More later.

PS Today's pic was taken in 1999 in New York City. Broadway between 46th and 47th, the Times Square area. This was a Monday night, so the theatres were closed. And yes, there was a cop nearby.
