un-manic Monday

Good morning! It's 8:42 this side of noon. Like many folks, that extra hour threw me off a little bit. 'Why is it dark out and it's only 5:30?"  The days get shorter, until I think December 20th. One thing I'm grateful for is our Latitude. I remember being in Alberta Canada in July of 1985, where the sun was out until 9 or 10 at night, whose residents are no doubt experiencing very truncated days right about now. And don't get me started about temperatures....

Music news. Believe it or not, I actually have some since yesterday. Another damn album! And no, I didn't write and perform all the music in one day(that would be news!) It's stuff I've been messing with for some time, which finally all came together. As far as style, it's eclectic. Gentler, folkier, but  with a little weirdness of my own thrown in there. Working title is Indian Summer, since most of the material is from the sub-season we just passed out of. Coming soon!

The big news, though, is still this new CD of mine.  Near-Miracle on 33rd Street  You can now hear it on Spotify and Pandora and YouTube(under Sam Crain topic), and more soon. The CDs themselves are still with me($12.50 if I mail it, and $10 if you stop by the house to pick up your copy).

Making music is just what I do, in good times and bad. But it's really come in handy this year as a coping device, both the writing and guitar playing. An outlet of some kind is something I'd wish for everybody going through this. Not a panacea, but it helps take some of the edge off.

So that's all I've got for now. As ever, thanks for stopping in and reading. Happy Monday to you! At least it's a nice day out there, which helps Monday go down a little easier. For now, ich bin outa here. More later.

PS Today's pic was taken in July of 1985, in either Calgary or Edmonton, Alberta Canada. I was playing- guitar- in a band called Scoundrel, which played up there every Summer. It was a great month!
