Wednesday

Good morning! 9:38 and 25 degrees at the moment. Thinking of the Chicago song Approaching Storm. That's what we've got going here in the middle of the State in the middle of the Country. I think  Kansas would actually be smackdab in the middle, but we're close enough.

Our Winters aren't the kind they have in, say, Buffalo New York or Minneapolis, where it stays bitter cold the whole time. It usually gets that way for a couple days and then normalizes. So my Winters are a series of mini-hibernations. Preparing for one right now, as a matter of fact..

I've just recently had some work done on this place. Had the porch raised up to level height, and latticework put back in, plus some work on the roof. For me, it was great having people around. They kept me pretty busy as well. My cat didn't fare as well with all this hubbub.

She's still camped out in the living room. Still freaked out from all the commotion. She usually roams the whole house, but she's severely limited her orbit.  I think if we just get a couple quiet days in a row, she'll get herself back to nermal. She's making more attempts to get up the stairs, which is a good sign. My neurotic cat...

Unfortunately, I don't have music news at the moment.  With this recent wave of activity around here, the guitar has fallen by the wayside. Still getting in some maintenance work- scales and arpeggios and like that- but no inspired cuts. So I'll have to get back on the stick here.

I do have a job a week from Friday at Boone's. Rob Killam, Stuart Smith, me, and a few other folks. it's Rob's gig. I'm pretty sure we'll have some better weather,

Such is life at the moment. Thanks as ever for stopping in and wading through all this mess. Happy Hump Day to you, however you choose to celebrate it! For now, ich bin outa here. More later. PS today's pic is from one of those Artist'-on-the-Plaza gigs. Mr Cool in his shades...
