Good morning! It's 8:39 on this snowy Thursday. About 12 degrees out there right now. These next two days are supposed to be cold, so I'm glad to be in hibernation mode. Not too cold to leave the house(I've done 4 degrees under duress) , but cold enough to keep me inside. Fortunately, that trip for extra supplies was made yesterday, so we're well stocked.
Music news. Working on new stuff. These past couple days have been spent between the keyboard and digital recorder developing some new ideas. I've got a growing number of things needing a guitar part, and figure I'll just have a guitar day where I do all of them. And there are a number of short pieces that are complete in themselves. Today is set aside as another such day. So there is fun on the horizon..
Fun on the horizon. Sheesh. Well, that's what's going on. Yet more material. It's either feast or famine with me, and at the moment I'm chowing down.
This next week, on Thursday and Friday, I have bandjobs. They're both local and both early: Pease's Gourmet on Thursday from 6:30-8:30; and Robbie's on Friday from 5:30-7:30. And both should be a good time--my third and last criterion(and really the most important), in addition to local and early, is that it's FUN.. After those, I have something in late April with the Samba Llamas(a private affair, fund-raiser of some sort)and then May 1st at Robbie's. This is my own gig, and I'll have Rob Killam and Dave Pruitt working with me on bass and drums respectively.
Most of the action is from home base these days, but I still keep my hand in there as far as live things. Nice to maintain that tenuous connection with the rest of the world..
Those are the basic headlines for now. Thanks as ever for stopping in and reading. Happy Thursday to you! Stay warm. Ich bin outa here. More later.
