Good morning! It's 9:16 and 52 degrees at the moment. A rainy day after a string of sunny ones.
A thoughtful post this morning on Facebook from an old friend, all about advancing on your instrument. He talked in terms of levels, like Intermediate and High Intermediate.
Most folks just settle into Amateur status, playing for themselves and their friends. Those who take it more seriously end up at an Intermediate or High Intermediate level- with some degree of mastery. But most of us don't reach that top stratum. it's a much steeper hill to climb.
I would consider an Advanced player one for whom playing has become effortless. In my 56 years as a guitarist, I've met very few individuals- on any instrument, not just guitar- who have attained that kind of mastery. I'm still working on it myself...
Anyway. First and foremost, this stuff is FUN. That's why I do it. Well, that and to get chicks..
Not much of a post today. I hope to have something new to share with you as far as my YouTube page. Still spending a lot of time with my new guitar, even getting a practice session in at the very end of my day- 11:30 or so until midnight.
