Andere Montag(another Monday)

Good morning, whoever-reads-this! It's eleven o'clock and 34 degrees on this dreaded first day of the workweek. Yours truly got nine and a half hours of sleep last night. That's a rarity. I usually do around seven.

There is a qualitative difference, I've found, between seven, eight, and nine hours of sleep. Anything less than seven is a little more wired.  Eight is more relaxed, and nine is practically invertebrate. Yesterday was a busy day, probably more befitting of  a Monday, so I must've needed the sleep.

Anyway! Music news. As it turns out, I have two gigs coming up. The first is a week from this Friday at Boone's. 5:30-7:30, come on down! The second is a private party on April 8th. It's for some friends of mine. They have a beautiful house, between Spfld and Mechanicsburg, which will be a nice setting for a party.

I swore off background music gigs some time ago. The band always seemed to be  placed smackdab in the middle, surrounded by people all talking at once. A grim experience for the folks trying to make music. Something I don't want to put up with anymore, as I get older and crabbier.

But if they put us in a corner someplace, it's a wonderful experience. They do their thing, we do ours. Plus, we usually get fed..I was able to negotiate this, so we should have a great time of things on April 8th.

I don't play out as much as I have in years past, but I still play every day here in the Music Lab. And I try to make up for my scarcity of gigs by having something online I can always invite you folks to. My You Tube page seems to serve that purpose. There are frequent posts, and it's always the best I can do. So it's like hearing the best tune of the night.

Well that's what I've got for you in the way of news. Thanks as ever for stopping in and reading. Happy Monday to you, if that's possible. I'm outa here. More later.

PS today's pic was taken at a Bassburg concert. Me, Mark Sanders and Rob Killam. The picture of intensity.
