Greetings, whoever-reads-this!
Another day here in Paradise--well, maybe Paradise Adjacent. Or, better, Lower Paradise. The temperature is supposed to plummet in the next day or two. Time to break out what I call my thermal dermis. And they'll stay on until March sometime.( Not the same pair, of course!). Seriously though, I don't think I could live anywhere further North.
Music News. A gig on November 3rd, at The Pharmacy. Ben Taylor on bass and Matthew Miller on vibraphone. 6:30- 8:30. I've never been there before. It's on Adams street right downtown, between 4th street and the tracks. Or thereabouts..
I can tell already that this is going to be a better atmosphere for music-making, just by virtue of the fact that it's quieter. Ben and I have played a lot of gigs together over the years, mostly as fellow sidemen in Ocean State. This will be the first time I work with Matthew Miller.
In the meantime, still trying to get some practice in every day. And still making practice videos. They don't all survive, of course. Some I delete in disgust, and a few my cats ruin--in particular, my female cat. Svetlana the Saboteur.. But there are still a few that make it to the gates of YouTube. Still getting new subscribers, a few at a time.
Svetlana is up here now, just seeing what she can do. In the midst of watching a show, she'll sit on the mouse and somehow mess up the sound. I have to stop the movie and unmute the speakers.
