April Fool's Day

Good morning, whoever-reads-this! It's 10:34 and a windy 39 degrees.

A fun gig last night at Boone's. I was tickled that people made it down, storm or no storm. It was pretty much over and done with by the time we we finished. Most of the things I'd practiced worked on stage. I taped a few numbers, thinking I might have some new stuff for my YouTube page. Well, maybe next time. But I still got a good idea of what worked and what didn't. Something to build on for next time..

I survived the deluge of last night, though some folks weren't so lucky. There was some damage just north of us, in Sherman. I've got a leak in my roof(yes, you could take that one of two ways!)which got some water of course, but it was all contained. I've got two wastebaskets to cover it and they were both full to capacity. Couldn't even lift them, so I had to drain part of the water into another container just to get it to the tub.

Got another gig a week from today, this one earlier hours and a much quieter place to play. Boone's is a very nice place, with friendly staff and great food, but it's noisy! So this one is  for a birthday party at someone's house. I'll have the same bass player as last night, and a different drummer. I'll probably try to tape some of that, and I think I'm going to get better results.

In May, about the middle of the month, I'm having some Dental work done. May be out of commission for awhile as far as playing anywhere, but I'll still be kickin' it from my music room here at Crain Manor. This seems to be a year of changes, and I'm just trying to roll with them.

Well that's my news for the moment. Thanks as ever for stopping in and reading. More later.
