Friday

Good morning! 9:47 and 48 degrees at the moment. A beautiful end to the week.

Music news. I have yet another album to release. These past couple years have been crazy prolific as far as that goes. There are three tunes I need to remix, and then I'll put ém all on one CD and upload that to CD Baby. That's the company that distributes my stuff, sends it out into the wide wide world.

With this coming one, I'll have 50 albums up there. I try and make every album just a little bit different than the last one. Thinking of Vivaldi, who wrote some 500 Concertos. His detractors claim he wrote the same Concerto 500 times! Trying to avoid that fate..

This new one has a solo piece that sounds  a little bit like parts of Eddie Van Halen's Eruption. Plus a couple of pretty songs, and lots of guitar and keyboard soloing. My keyboard chops are not at their best, but I can still hack out a solo or two.. Coming soon, to a store near you.

There was a group I was in  back in the 80s, with Brian Pryor and GG Pelletier and a few others, where I had a guitar solo which was also inspired by Eruption. Even got to play it in front of people at the Fair in New Berlin. The baddest cat from this time wasn't Van Halen but rather a Swedish guitarist named Yngwie Malmsteen. (Pronounced ING-vay). Paganini chops. Scary at the time..

There was an interview, in which Van Halen was asked, "How does it feel being the star guitarist of the 80s?" He said, "I don't know, you'll have to ask Yngwie". I liked that response. Shows some humility.

Hoping to bring you something new on my regular YouTube page. It's still growing, as far as subscribers. Slow but steady. Up to a whopping 181 folks. Getting back to nermal with the practicing, and should have something or other to show for it.

Okay, Once again, I've filled the page. And all music news for a change. Thanks as ever for stopping in and wading through all this. Happy Friday to you! For now, ich bin outa here. More later.

PS today's pic was taken at someone's beautiful house in Panther Creek. Kevin Ellis, Steve Alexander and me. PPS today's tune is the Van Halenish thing I was talking about. Hope you like it.
