Friday

Good morning! 9:51 and 52 degrees at the moment. Another rainy day, but a milder one. At least that's what they're saying so far today.

Music news. A gig this evening , from 5:30 to 7:30 at Boone's. Rob Killam, Dave Pruitt, and me. This ends my 4-week tour of local Springfield nightspots. Back-to-back gigs at Anchors Away and Boone's. Busier than I like to be, but I do feel good that I helped some people out with a few of those extra dates.

Rob and Dave and I have played as a trio on a couple occasions. COVID cancelled our first gig, back in May of 2020, and also a later date at Anchors Away- though we did play there in September of 2019.  One new development is that we have a nice place to get together and play.. Dave's place.

My place could accommodate a small group, but then there's the cat allergy thing. Rob has trouble after about an hour. So this is the elegant solution. A 15-minute drive for Rob and me, but a much roomier place- and, I guess, feline-free. Half the battle is having a nice place to rehearse. Gigs will take care of themselves.

So we're on tonight. Unlike some gig days, where I tossed and turned the night before, I got in my 8 hours. Nice and rested for tonight's festivities. I don't do much on these days. This afternoon I'll get moving, but for now it's nice and slothful. The end of a busy patch..

In other music news, I have a new recording that's set to go live on Sunday. Big Hair Big Dreams is the title, and the material is somewhere between Fusion and Smooth Jazz. I regret choosing that title, because it's fairly commonplace. Nothing special about this new album, except that they're just nice tunes- if I do say so myself..

That's all I've got for now. More coffee to drink, and on to the next phase of my morning, which is Lumosity and Wordle. Maybe see you tonight at Boone's. For now, ich bin outa here. More later.
