Friday

Good morning! It's 8:35 and 35 degrees on this dismal Friday. Up and more or less at ém, and working on that first cup of coffee.

Music news. A gig last night in the Panther Creek area. Guitar, bass and drums. I've played many a gig in the Clubhouse. Nice place but noisy as all getout. I was relieved that this was at a private residence. We had some rambunctious kids running around, but otherwise a lot quieter.

The downside of playing a private home is that you usually have a couple turns to make. I knew it would be tricky , and it met my expectations. I asked to follow someone out of there, and then was told I should've followed the other guy. After driving all over hell and high water, finally ended up back at Wabash and paddled home from there.

And what added to the stress was a gas tank on E. And while that's always stood for excellent in my book, I think it meant I was out of gas. Very concerned this morning. Actually went out before I had my coffee and got some of that overpriced fuel in there.

Except for the trip to and fro, a very nice time. Good people to make music with, and our hosts were cool. And after finally getting home with my gas tank perilously on E, I enjoyed a nice meal courtesy of our hosts.

Next Friday I'm at Anchors Away with José Gobbo. 8 to 10. Two guys and their guitars. Hope to see you there.

Once again, I've filled the page. So I guess this is it for now. Thanks as ever for stopping in and reading. Happy Friday to you. For now, I'm outa here. More later. PS Today's pic goes back to the late 80s. Jeff Magby, me and Tim Green at Sebastian's. Tim was apparently saying, "what a gig!
