Greetings, whoever-reads-this! It's apparently International Cat Day, at least according to Facebook.
My two quadrapeds, who've been with me since the beginning of June. Our third month together. I think their names were Tçhalla and Nubia, but they're now Dmitri and Svetlana. They're about a year old, near-adults who still have some kitten in them.
This is my third generation of cats here at Crain Manor. My first pet was actually a dog- a Spaniel/Lab mix named Lester. He soon had a feline “pal” named Maxine. She pretended not to like him, but it was just a ruse. They had a good 12 years together, until Maxine's passing.
Enter two more kittens, Cindy and Jill. They kept Lester company until his passing a few years later. Then Jill had to be put down, leaving me with Cindy. We had a couple great years together. She helped me get through the COVID years, until she finally ran out of gas.
Two days passed, and I got a note on Facebook from someone trying to find a new home for two cats. Their owner was having to re-locate, and couldn't take them with him, so I decided to take a chance. A happy accident. Serendipitous even..
I couldn't find a picture of Maxine, but I do have a shot or two of Lester the dog, and his feline playmates Cindy and Jill. Actually he and Cindy did more playing together, and even napping.
So I have a new generation of felines on my hands. I love dogs as well, but am more of a cat person. That said, I do favor cats who have just a little bit of dog in them. Like my current two. I'm just two days shy of being 69 years old myself, so I figure they'll see me into my 70s or later. We'll see…
Music posts to return soon. Had to honor International Cat Day today. Not much left of me anyway, at this juncture. I bought groceries, mowed grass, and practiced guitar today. That's enough activity, especially for an öld"guy..
