MIttwoch

Greetings, whoever-reads-this! Kickin' it here in the Music Lab, nursing that first cup of coffee, bringing the world into focus. Okay, not too much focus. It's such a nutty place anymore, I kinda try to leave it on soft-focus..Like it was an issue of Penthouse..

Music news. A nice gig this past Sunday with Ocean State, at All About Wine. We had a nice crowd, including some people I knew. It's also a very dog-friendly establishment, and we had two in attendance. A brief skirmish, but nothing out of hand.

I'm still an adjunct member of the band. My duties as such are providing chords for the occasional rehearsal, and subbing when needed. Sometimes it's not all that convenient: one gig was an a day with 7 degree weather; another was on about 4 hours notice.. But we're friends, and that's what friends do. I may bitch about it, but I'm still there..

My next gig on the books is November 1st of next year. It's at Boone's. Just got the email from Sheila at the Arts Council as far as the 2024 dates, and mine was on February 9th. Doable, but that's invariably the coldest month of the year. January and March can go either way, but February is almost always that last shot of Winter.

After all these years, I know me pretty well. I know what a neurotic cold-weather wuss I am. I'd be dreading it. So I asked if there was anything further along in the year. I was thinking Spring, but what the hell.

Otherwise, still working away here in the Music Lab. I'm still making music videos, and have a couple to share on my YouTube page. And also working with my own music. I've released two albums this month: Interluudes and Jazz Guitar Vol 5. Some material I'd had laying around for awhile.

And I've got yet another one to release, one last gasp out of all this backlog. The working title is Boom Boom Room. It's more fusion stuff. Coming soon.

So that's my music news for the moment. Thanks as ever for stopping in and reading. Happy MIttwoch to you! Ich bin outa here. More later.

Today's pic was taken at The Pharmacy. Matthew Green, Ben Taylor and me.
