Saturday

Good morning! 9:49 and 71 degrees are where we're at for the moment. These posts are like something out of the movie Groundhog Day: same location, same first cup of coffee, same low level of alertness.. So here we go again.

Same music news. Still working away in the Lab. Came up with something new last night, and will be itchin' to go again today after I get some more coffee in me. After working last night, I felt pleasantly spent once again. This tells me I'm on the right track. Following my energy where it wants to go.

Whether or not they make it all the way to an actual recording, most of my efforts end up on the Music page here at Sam Central. I always try to throw in a free download or two. Something to take home with you.

Here is where you can find a lot of my recorded stuff on YouTube. All kindsa CDs, from straight-ahead jazz to fusion to classical music. Solo albums and group albums. You just might see somebody you know on one of these records. Heck, you might even be on one of these records...

This has been a spotty year for performances. One in January, one in February, several in April and one in May. We'd planned to rehearse sometime in June, but the heat wave seemed to put the kabash on it. And then the first two weeks in July were on hold, taking care of my brother. And then more heat. It's finally cooling down..

Since that fateful day in March of 2020 when all the lights went out, I've staged a couple of comebacks. It's been nice rubbing elbows with my fellow players and getting to see a few folks, but it hasn't pulled me back in. Gigging involves a lot of last-minute stuff, which is a little bit jarring to this old coot.

I'm sure there will be another comeback attempt. And maybe it'll take this time.  But in the meantime, I'll still be bringing it to you via my website and good old social media. Thanks as ever for stopping in and reading. Happy Saturday to you! I'm outa here. More later.
