Saturday

Good morning! 8:38 and 68 degrees are our current stats. And it's a beautiful day out there. Getting to bed just a tad earlier lately. I'm still a slug for the first couple hours, but at least I get it in with a bit more morning left. My version of Carpe Diem.

Music news. I've started working again in my makeshift home-recording studio. Creating more stuff.

I had hoped to do this back in May, after a wave of gigs. I'd done the same thing in February, after a couple of Winter gigs, and came up with a new album. Big Hair, Big Dreams

KInda had to wait for the weather to be right. My music room is the only room in the house without Central Air, so the hot days we've been having have rendered it useless. I could reach an acceptable level of cool, but it was only right in front of the computer. Cool enough for YouTube videos, but not nearly cool enough to record anything across the room.

So I've got two new interludes, and beginnings of a third. All this new stuff will soon be on the Music page of my website. Working on a new album, out of all the messes I've made here in the studio. It's about 90% at the moment. Decisions, decisions..

As far as making music out of the house, that's still in limbo. But with the weather cooling for the moment, it's probably a good time to try to schedule another rehearsal. Once we get the ball rolling, we should be just fine. It's just getting that first step..

Anyway. Today should be a great day here in the Lab. This is also an exercise day. I move these old bones around for about 35-40 minutes, through various calisthenics and contortions. . I shoot for twice a week, but always get one in. So with whatever is left of me after that, I'll probably be making some more music today.

So that's what's happening here in Samworld. Thanks as ever for stopping in and reading. Happy Saturday to you! For now, I'm outa this place. More later.

PS today's pic goes back to 2015, and was taken at Panther Creek's clubhouse. Edwin von Fliege Jr on keys, Dennis Cronin on bass, David Hoffman on trumpet, Lonnie Wooden on drums, and me on guitar. Fun times!
