Saturday

Good morning! 9:44 and 41 degrees at the moment. A nice sunny day for a change. Ready for something or other, just as soon as I've had my coffee..

Music news. One thing I enjoy about our little musical community is the stories. Just about everybody I know has an anecdote or two attached to them. Some would take the whole evening with their antics.. At my gig on Thursday, they  were flying as we got caught up on one another and some of the other characters we know and love.

And I'm sure there are anecdotes about me. I'd feel slighted if there weren't. I feel like I fueled a Sam Anecdote at this last gig by getting lost on the way out. West Side gigs are my nemesis, at least if they're at night and involve a series of turns.

When I was 5 years old, I wanted to be a Cab Driver when I grew up because I knew all the streets in the city. In reality, it was just long stretches of Lawrence Avenue and North Grand. But I knew my Grandview streets: Wirt, Wheeler. Albany..

As a grown-up, I could probably get you as far as Knox Knolls, but anything west of Veterans Pkwy is pretty vague..

In other news, I've got a few more gigs coming up. This coming Friday, I'll be at Anchors Away. My second gig with José Gobbo. 8 to 10. And the first Friday in May, I'll be at Boone's with Rob Killam and Dave Pruitt. Hope to see you at one of these events!

And I can't seem to stop making albums. My output as a composer is either feast or famine, and I'm still chowing down. The Music page and the My Wares page have what I'm up to in this regard.

This is about all I can think of to share for now. Thanks as ever for stopping in and reading. Today's picture should've gone with yesterday's post, but I posted before I got the picture. Except for getting there and back, a most enjoyable time. And with that, ich bin outa here. More later.
