Music news. The top story is this guitar I just bought. An Epiphone Coupe Casino. Bought it on a Thursday, got it in the mail yesterday. There was a note on the side of the box cautioning you to leave it in the box for one more day. My first thought was, "this is a lot of baloney", but my second thought was that it was something that could turn around and bite me in the ass- especially if I were arrogant enough to just disregard it..
So I tried to wait. Lasted about five hours before finally opening the box. It's smaller than I thought it would be, and looks dinky next to my other Epiphone guitar. Still a beautiful sunburst finish. I took off the pickguard to bring that out a bit more.
One other discovery is that there's a lot more neck to work with. Most guitars have 21 or 22 frets, with the neck joining the body at about the 19th fret. This one joins the body at the 21st fret, and is cut away on both sides, so you get a lot more to work with.
Kinda like a small country with a lot of coastline. Chile maybe..
So I'll be spending a lot of time today with this new addition to the family. I've got a few things to share to YouTube with the red Epiphone guitar, but I'm sure I'll have some stuff with this new axe not too far down the road.
