Thursday

Good morning! 9:13 and 23 degrees at the moment on this first day of December.

Today is Woody Allen's birthday. My Mom couldn't stand him, but I was a fan. I could relate to the neurotic character he portrayed, the Epsilon Male full of fears and insecurities. Even had a bit of the hypochondria that seemed to be his trademark. And as far as all the stuff he's been charged with, it doesn't affect my opinion of his movies one iota.  HIs only responsibility to me is to make entertaining movies--if I've paid to see them.

I don't get up on a soapbox very often in here, but every so often something triggers it. Lord knows, we have enough damned issues going on right now..

Music news. Bad news first. The Gibson SG I borrowed has some big-time problems. The jack is messed up, so it's tough to get that just right. And the pots all need cleaning. So it's back in the case, ready to Return to Sender.

The rest of the news is all good. Still hammering away at my new Epiphone Coupe- the little sunburst guitar. And even doing a few hammer-ons.  And still taping most of my practice sessions. Sometimes they all end up on the cutting room floor, but I get a few winners in there. And those are the ones I post on YouTube.

As far as any recording projects, I've got one I need to get around to finishing. I'm getting tired of the one-man-band stuff, though this stuff did save my ass during COVID. So I've got one more of those smooth/fusion things to share. Some pretty songs.

After that, I've got a straight-ahead jazz project that just needs some adjustment as far as levels. Two of the cuts even have other people on them. I have someone who's helped me with this stuff in the past, having a much more high-tech studio than mine.

So that's my news for now. Always something brewing here in the Lab. Thanks as ever for stopping in and reading. Happy Thursday to you! Ich bin outa here for now. Wordle and Lumosity beckon. Later.  PS Today's tune goes back to the late 80s. Wrote it during married years. The wife thought it sounded like porno music, and gave it its title. Thanks, dear...
