Thursday

Good morning! 10:15 and 46 degrees. Mother Nature is breaking us in for Winter with these cooler temps. Building up that callous.

Music news. This is still my top story. My new album Souvenirs, which has just made its first profit. $.06 in streams. The link is a YouTube page CD Baby set up for me, one of three. There is a good cross-section of stuff on this site. Group albums as well as solo projects. You the reader are cordially invited to stop in and look around.

I know I've used this line before, but like they used to say in Baltimore's red-light district, "don't cost nothin' to check it out!" Not only the link above, but this one as well. Think of it as visiting your favorite strip club- and you don't even have to buy a drink!

Okay, so much for the sales pitch. But someone's gotta do it. Might as well be me.

I'm still trying to practice most every day, and still using my cheapie Canon digital camera to record some of my practicing. My regular YouTube page is alive and well, with now 184 subscribers. To me, that's still a lot.

With the practice, as well as paying homage to the Goddess of Chops, I'm learning--or re-learning--some new tunes. Just the other day I worked on the Lee Morgan classic Ceora.

Remembering a comment on FB regarding this tune, from a saxophonist. She said the melody was easy, but the improv was "no walk in the park". Personally, I found it just the opposite. The changes are easy to play over, but the melody is tricky. At least on guitar. It's awkward, doesn't lie right. Doable- but no walk in the park...

Skimpy as it is, that's my news for now. Thanks as ever for stopping in and reading. I mentioned getting myself a sunburst version of my Epiphone, and just found one here at Sweetwater.. I must say, they're very persistent. Bought some picks from them maybe a year ago, and still get mail from them constantly..

Okay! Happy Thursday to you! Ich bin outa here. On to Lumosity and Wordle. More stuff later. PS today's pic was taken at the Hoogland Center, year unknown. Me, Lou Humphrey and Mark Russillo.
