Thursday

Good morning! 9:23 and 78 degrees are our statistics at the moment. This has been a topsy-turvy week. Finally settling in, getting back to normal. Had my 6-month checkup, which always throws me off a bit. Most of my numbers are good, but there are a few we always seem to be working on.

I feel like I've turned a corner here, at this ripe old age- 67, soon to be 68.  The basic quality of life is still there, but I'm having to work a little harder for it. More referrals, more attention to diet and exercise. And more of what I call miscellaneous aches and pains. But I still feel good- basically.. And that's what I'm trying to preserve here. As long as I can..

Music news. Still working away here in the Lab, as far as guitar practice. That's pretty much a given. It's been a little while since I've played with anybody else, and am feeling the itch to get that going again. Another session with Rob and Dave is in the works. We decided to wait until this heat wave is over. So we're baby-stepping our way there..

I've sorta got the makings of yet another recording. This seems also to be a given. But this new one is a bit different. More folky, open-string sounds. Jam sessions kinda like a Dixieland band, where everyone is improvising at the same time. And I've got a goodly number of weird little electronic pieces- which I suspect nobody likes but me. Oh well...

But I'd still like to make another recording with real humans. It's really been awhile for that. If Rob and Dave and I can continue to play together, I think we could make a very nice album.

A skimpy post for today. Thanks as ever for stopping in and reading. I do appreciate it! Happy Thursday to you! For now, ich bin outa here. More later. PS today's pic was taken in Matamoros, Mexico sometime in 1985. We were supposed to play in Brownsvile TX, but they double-booked, so we had some time on our hands. The Mexican people I met were very friendly, but also very enterprising. They saw this gringo coming...

PPS today's tune is from an album called Concert Music. Hope you like it.
