Good morning! It's just this side of ten, another decent day out there. Halfway down on that first cup of Morning Joe. Literally bringing the world in focus. The eyes are fuzzy for awhile in the morning.
Old Guy News. Yesterday I had something that felt much like the flu. Fatigue, chills, indigestion- the whole ball of wax. From about 9 in the a.m to 3 in the p.m., i was miserable. What it turned out to be was just something in my system that my body didn't want in there. Once it was out of my system, everything snapped back to normal. Or as close as I get to it.
I also had a couple days last week where I lost my voice. Even if you're in relatively good health, you still have these old person episodes where something goes awry. By the time I'd call my Doctor, they've passed. Getting older is mostly okay, but you do have your days..
Music News. And about damn time, I can hear you say. Still doing what I'm doing in this area, which is lots of shedding. Not in the biological sense but the musical one. I'm tickled when people ask me about my gigs- the one word they know in Musicspeak. Well you can add another one: shedding- or, in its full form: woodshedding. It means to practice.
Musicspeak actually sounds kind of Orwellian. Hipster seems to work better.
In other music news, I have two new albums out there. Big Hair, Big Dreams and Pianoramics. Those are the YouTube links. The first one is my particular mix of Fusion and Smooth Jazz; and the second is more modern classical music.
in this coming month, I'm getting back together with the guys who played Boone's with me just recently. i might just get real ambitious here and try to tape a couple things to share on my YouTube page.
It takes awhile to get a band to the point where we're all tuned in to each other. This was true of the SamBillandDon ensemble(my last trio), and of the quartet which preceded it. So we'll get some more familiarity going, and be out there playing another gig sooner or later.
