Tuesday

Good morning! 9:10 and 69 degrees are our current stats. Cloudy but at least cooler.

Music News. Boy howdy! A busy day in the Lab yesterday finishing up not one but two albums. The first one , Souvenirs, is already up; and the second one, Isosceles Macaroni, is going up today.

Souvenirs is smoother stuff, but a little quirky around the edges. Lots of guitar and keyboard work, and a couple electronic pieces that sound a bit like Weather Report.

Isosceles Macaroni is more edgy, more out there. It starts off relatively easy, and gets crazier from there- only to normalize at the very end.

I had fun putting the cover together. Pretty sure I got the triangle right, with the two even sides.

The title comes from a dream I had as a college kid, 24 or 25 years old. In the dream, I'm at Ralph Nader's house. Dinner is cooking, and he's giving a lecture, complete with blackboard and chalk.

He's saying, in his lecture "we must view reality without bias", and draws a 9-point star on the board. He then poses various philosophical questions, and answers them within the 9-point star, something like a Proof in Geometry.

While all this is going on, the phone rings. I answer it: hello? The voice on the other end said, "What's for dinner? Isosceles Macaroni was my answer. At the time it felt like a witticism.

Some witticism. But that's where the title came from.

So these two albums will be ready this next month. Souvenirs goes live on September 1st, and Isosceles Macaroni will probably go up around the end of the month. Nice to finally have closure on these two projects.

And I've got the beginnings of a new one. Smoother stuff, but still quirky around the edges. Coming whenever. But probably soon.

And that's my news for you for today. Thanks as ever for stopping in and reading. I do appreciate it! Happy Tuesday to you. Lumosity and Wordle are my next stops. Later for now. PS today's tune is from Isosceles Macaroni.  Hope you like it.
