Tuesday

Good morning! 10:07 and 40 degrees are our current statistics. This is the first day in awhile without errands. I can sit here and swill my coffee and wake up at my own snail's pace.

Domestic news. I now have a fully functional cell phone. Learning how to use it a little bit at a time. Tried to make a music video and upload it to YouTube, but something went awry. It was still uploading this morning- so back to the drawing board with that one.

As far as any future music videos, maybe I'll get it together with this new phone. But I also ordered a cheapie digital camera just like the one I've got. Canon Powershot. It should be here this week. Maybe the old-school digital camera is actually better. I miss making music videos, and am going to be making them again- one way or another..

Music news. A gig this Friday with Victoria Capo and Ben Taylor. I just spoke with Victoria yesterday. She's a lady about my age, who was also having trouble with her cell phone. We were both glad that we'd talked and gotten a little bit acquainted before the gig. Now looking forward to it.

I have another one coming up on May 6th, at Boone's. This one will be trio: guitar, bass and drums. And we may well have our usual second-set feature the Men Under 5'8". Messrs Russillo, Parker and Crain. Harmonica, trumpet and guitar. I'll also have my usual bag of CDs at half-price. It should be a fun two hours.

Nothing booked past May 6th, but things will fill in on their own. What works best for me is to do a wave of gigs and then take a couple weeks off, maybe even a month. That's what I'm shooting for in this next month. After that, I'll probably be ready to go again. And I'm pretty sure José Gobbo and I will get into some more trouble..

But in the meantime, I've got April 22 and May 6. Hope to see you at one of these events!

Getting ready for my other morning rituals: Wordle, Lumosity- and of course, more coffee. Thanks as ever for stopping in and reading. Happy Tuesday to you! Ich bin outa this place. More later.  PS today's pic goes back to 1995. Ashikaga, Japan with the Frank Trompeter Quintet. Dave Burdick, Frank, me(with the usual bad hair), Brian Pryor and Tim Hartet.  PPS today's tune was played by David Hoffman. He plays my stuff better than I do. Enjoy!
