Good morning! 8:50 and 30 degrees at the present moment. If I had someplace to go, I'd have to scrape the ice off my windshield. An early Winter. The only saving grace is that by the time real Winter gets here, we're all broken in.
Music news. Still putting in time with the new guitar. That sounds like I'm playing golf- and engaging in rhythmic putting. Keeping time with the guitar. Ah, the English language! But seriously, folks.
I have stepped up the practicing these days, even getting in some time at the very end of the day. Had to quit last night due to some soreness in my hands. Nothing major, just a gentle reminder to put the guitar away for the night. I've never had hand problems, and hope I never do.
There are times to hold ém and times to fold ém. I think the problems arise when you don't listen to your body.
My YouTube page is continuing to grow. Up to 202 subscribers at the moment. And I've gotten some very nice comments, which I always respond to. It's gotten me to step up the practicing, something I need to be careful not to overdo lest I get the aforementioned hand troubles.. But it's definitely a good thing.
The tapes I make are really more of a practice tool. I go back and listen to identify any problems. If everything feels good, I share it. But I still think about an audience when I make them. These folks I hear from are my audience.
In the way of gigs, though, I hope to do another trio thing at Boone's and another solo thing downtown. Hopefully the Boone's thing won't happen in the dead of Winter. We shall see..
