un-manic Monday

Good morning! 8:57 and a most temperate 69 degrees on this dreaded first-day-of-the-workweek. A co-worker, one of the ones I didn't like, used to take more of a Carpe Diem approach, stating that Monday morning is another chance to get it right.

Her desk used to be right behind mine. She used to interrupt damn near every phone conversation I had until I finally told her to kindly knock it off.  Last I heard, she was a Supervisor. She'd be my Supervisor if I were still there. Memories like this make me especially glad to be retired.

Music news. There's a jam session in Bloomington on Wednesday. I was invited, but had to decline. The bucket of bolts otherwise known as my van probably wouldn't get me there and back. I had almost forgotten my visit to a local service station, and them telling me it  wasn't worth repairing.

Mom and Pop shops tend to be more honest, which is why I favor them. They told me my van was basically on its last legs.  So I've been keeping it local. So far so good

The host for this event in Bloomington was very understanding, thank goodness. An old and dear friend, but one of my more intense ones.. Nice to see he's mellowing a bit with age. . I was tickled to be invited to join folks like Chip McNeill and Richard Drexler. They're both brilliant improvisors. Next time..

In other music news, I'm still practicing most every day, and still making YouTube videos. The heat has slowed things down. We had a rehearsal tentatively scheduled for sometime in June, but it got sacked. Once we get rolling with the rehearsals, I think everything else will fall into place. But we still have yet to make that first move...

And I have yet another album to release. Lots of guitar work as usual, and also featuring a few of my weirdo electronic pieces. Home recording has also slowed up due to the heat, but I always seem to have backlog..

I had a little bit more to write, but this is already a full page. More than enough reading material for now. Thanks as ever for stopping in and wading through all this. Happy Monday to you, if that's possible. For now, ich bin outa this place. More later.

PS Today's pic was taken at Robbie's, year unknown. Dan Rivero, Wayne Carter and me. I enjoyed my Dan and Wayne years.
