Good morning! 10:07 and 70 degrees at the moment. The kids are playing across the alley in the Day Care, with some poor grown-up in charge of them. That person is usually drained by lunchtime. Well, it's a tough job..
Music news. I have an album that's supposed to release tomorrow. It's called Souvenirs. A mix of Smooth Jazz and Fusion like many of my home-made recordings these days, but it's a bit quirkier. There's plenty of jamming on both guitar and keyboards, but also a few of my weirdo electronic pieces. But it all seems to fall together as a listening experience. That's where a lot of the real toil is in making these albums- in making it all sound easy...
Anyway, it'll be here tomorrow. Up on YouTube for streaming, and at the usual places as far as downloading anything.
Most of my efforts these days are downloads. It's just easier. There are enough boxes of CDs laying around here as it is. But I could be persuaded, if it's one people like. Still comin' atcha in one form or another.
I don't have any gigs at the moment, except for a luncheon this next month on solo guitar. The Ocean State gigs I've done- in January, April and now August- have all been fun. Likewise the two duo things with José Gobbo. And my trio gig back in May.
As long as it's an occasional thing, gigs are still enjoyable. Plus, people seem to get out to hear you more if it's just here and there. So my challenge here is in keeping my calendar from getting too full- tougher than it sounds.. Some folks I know thrive on having a gig every waking moment, but that drives me nutty.
Okay, more nutty. Already some there to begin with...
