Wednesday

Good morning! It's 9:23 and 47 degrees on this sunny Autumn day. I love this time of year, but it's always an adjustment here at Crain Manor. After a couple of topsy-turvy nights, where I'd wake up freezing, I've finally got things back to some sort of normalcy. Best night's sleep I've had in a couple days.

Adequate sleep is important. The world is weird enough as it is. Sleep helps to buffer all that, take the edge off. One of my favorite sayings, though I'm not really that cynical, is Life is a shit sandwich and every day is another bite. But the more bread you have, the less shit you taste. A decent night's sleep, then,  is the bread..

Music News. Lots of practicing this month. I still use the video camera to tape part of my sessions, and have had more winners these days. Been posting them faithfully to my YouTube page, which is continuing to grow. 179 subscribers, last time I looked. And I get comments from time to time, which I always answer.

I don't get out like I used to as far as the scene. January, February, April, May and August have been my gig months so far for the year. So these YouTube videos are sorta like my virtual gigs--or at least excerpts from them.. I still want to communicate with folks out there, whether it's from a stage or from the cloistered confines of my Music Lab.

It's been awhile since I've posted. But you haven't missed anything. Just old guy news- me adjusting, day by day, to the plummeting temperatures, and also to a tooth that's been acting up. Advil is a pretty good band-aid until I can get in to the Dentist. One nice thing, perhaps the saving grace, of getting older, is that you get better at taking care of yourself.

Anyway! That's my news for you for now. Thanks as ever for stopping in and reading. Happy Hump Day to you! For now, ich bin outa here. More later. PS today's pic was taken at Lime St. I did two very enjoyable gigs with Juke House, filling in for Manley Mallard. . From left to right: me, Fats Waller, Mike Lang. I love the posters at Lime St. There's a good John Lennon, and a Crosby Stills and Nash which features a very stoned Stephen Stills. Cracks me up every time I see it.

PPS today's tune is from my album Uncharted Waters. You can listen to the whole album from here. The cover pic was taken at The Alamo by Yolanda Deutschman.
