Good morning! It's currently 10:04 on this rainyass Wednesday. Battle stations with that first cup of coffee of the day. My cat often hangs out in here with me, and is currently dozing in her chair. She is also within petting distance, should I feel the urge. Being petted and being fed are her two ulterior motives. At least the two I've uncovered...
Music news. I feel like I'm supposed to have some dates for you, being Music News and all, but it's all still happening here in the Lab. I have had some enjoyable gigs this year: in particular, the duo with José Gobbo on April 15th, and the trio with Rob Killam and Dave Pruitt on May 6th. And I was very pleased with the turnout, especially on the April date.
I ended up with a whole string of gigs in April, playing four weeks in a row. Ended up feeling frazzled by that fourth week. Doing it every week doesn't work anymore. It becomes work. Lesson learned..
So I'll be back whenever. And I'll have a great time doing it. Gigs are still important. But at this point, they're best in smaller doses. That way they're still fun- like gigs are supposed to be.
Still putting in time on the guitar, and making a fair amount of home recordings, some of which make it onto my YouTube page. I'm starting to get a few ideas as far as new material. My Muse is circling the Airport. Gotta mosey over to the other side of the room to my makeshift home studio and see what gives.
New albums are still Big Hair, Big Dreams and Pianoramics. I've got the beginnings of a few ideas toward the next one. Always more to come!
