Sunday

Good morning! It's about 9:45 this side of noon on what looks to be a beautiful Sunday. Doing the coffee thing with my first cup of the day- out of three and change. Usually quite enough to caffeinate me for the day.

Music news. Had to renew my 'domain' today. Samcrain.com is my domain name. Makes it easier for people to find you--though not all that many people arelooking!  Locked that in years ago, and never had to renew until now. With hostbaby(my old website)it was automatic. When I went to log on this morning, my site had all but disappeared.. $14.95 later it was back up. There is no bigger pisser than logging on and finding nothing there! All good now..

The bigger story, though, is my new album. Near-Miracle on 33rd Street, which will be available in both CD and download formats. All straight-ahead jazz, all originals(though a couple of things are based on standards). A couple of the songs I'd done on an earlier album- Rose of Loami- which was a trio date: guitar bass and drums. Always wanted to redo a couple of those tunes with keyboard added in.

Thursday was the day for getting everything in order as far as levels and presence. Friday was the day for uploading everything to the computer. (Saturday was spent recuperating from Thursday and Friday). So from here, we just wait. I'll have the CDs around the 23rd of this month, and it'll take a month or so for it to be up in places like iTunes and Spotify. But I'm pretty pleased with everything. The guitar solos are, for the most part, more lyrical and not quite so notey as on my YouTube videos. Glad I showed a little sense in there....

And then just last night, I had a relapse as far as common sense. I started work on another album! Still in the embryonic stages here, just picking out tunes to do. But it'll be much like the one I just released. All originals, all jazz- though there may be a funk tune or two in this mix. You'll see the finished version sometime next year.

So that's what I'm up to. Today I hope to get back on the guitar and give 'er hell. Haven't done much playing in the past couple days, and I'm sure the rust will show. But anything worth saving, I'll be sharing.

Thanks as ever for stopping in and reading. Happy Sunday to you! Until next time, I'm outa here. More later.

PS Today's tune is called Judy's Song, and is one of several songs written for the wife(1987-1994)
