Tepid Tuesday

Good Morning! Just this side of nine in the a.m. The sun is so bright I have to keep the blinds closed to be able to see what I'm doing. "My future is so bright i have to wear shades. " Wasn't that a song of some kind? And on a similar note, there's this great quote from Martin Mull: is it hot in here or is it just my career? Must confess, I've used that one on occasion.

Music news. My new CD, Near-Miracle on 33rd Street,  is 'in production', according to an email I just got. CD Baby is still the best game in town, but they're splintering off into different units. There is now a Distribution side which handles making CDs, connected to but separate from the regular artist page. On Friday, I had to set up a new password and userid for them, and lost my access to my regular page in the process.

i was unable to access my page all weekend, and finally had the bright idea to call someone from this new division to get me in. A very nice lady named Erin got me a password, and I was in like Flynn. Remembering the frustration of people trying to get someone on the phone at unemployment, all for a problem that'd take a few seconds to resolve. Folks, I hear you!

Password/userid woes are one of the Rings of Hell for us baby-boomers. I just read on FB about a friend who'd had the same weekend as me, only with Verizon. But these little comforts: our phones and our websites- help us through times like these. They're particularly addictive. I was jonesing all Saturday and Sunday-  like a junkie needing their fix..

Anyway. A new CD in the works. And I'm working on some new music. There is a song I wrote some time ago called Almost for Sandi, a nice little jazz waltz with interesting changes. This will be one of the next things I record. Sandi was a woman I met on a gig. I was working on this tune at the time. As far as Sandi went, I got the interview but not the job, hence Almost for Sandi. By the time I'm done with it, it'll probably have a new title.

So that's my basic stuff for now. I seem to be back in musicmaking mode, so more sounds on the horizon. Thanks as ever for stopping in and reading. Happy Tuesday to you! I'm outa here. More later.
