Friday

Good foggy morning! 8:40 and 28 degrees are our statistics at the moment. I don't know about you, but I like foggy mornings. They give a sort of surreal tinge to the day, like you're watching a horror movie. Hammer Films were big on fog, as I remember.

Music news. My new album Sonorities releases on Sunday. You can stream it from my website, and I'm pretty sure there's a free download or two in there. When I play out someplace, I'm usually Mr Clean as far as any effects. Just plug the guitar in the amp. No frills. But at home, I like to employ some different guitar sounds. So there are a variety in here, as well as keyboard and bass work.

I don't think this is going to be a crazy prolific year like the past two. For one thing,  things are more open- even though masks are still de rigueur in most locations.. Much of that excess output was borne out of isolation. But I'm sure to have more stuff as we get into this new year.

On the 20th, at the 3sixteen Wine Bar in Chatham, José Gobbo and I will be playing. 6 to 9. We've had a couple sessions so far, and they've all been great. It's supposed to be cold on that day--just my f-ing luck- but I'm already more or less broken in as far as the scourge of Winter.

And that's all I can come up with in the way of news. You're as informed as I am. Thanks as ever for stopping in and wading through all this. Happy Friday to you! For now, I'm outa here. More later. PS today's pic was taken in Japan in 1995. Me, Brian Pryor, Frank Trompeter, Dave Burdick, Tim Harte. PPS A remark I made in here, talking about one's sometimes lousy luck, reminds me of a musician story, however apocryphal: The Woody Herman Band has in its book a song called Just My Fuckin' Luck. Supposed to be a nice tune. If I ever hear that band again, if indeed they still exist, I'll have to approach somebody and ask for that one.
