Oh no! It's Monday!

Good morning! 8:58 in the a.m., a beautiful sunny day we should've had yesterday, for the benefit of those still in the workforce. Once you retire, the days are much more "modular". As far as I'm concerned, it's still Sunday. Just remembered an old Beatles song, from Sgt Pepper. For the Benefit of Mr Kite. This is why i like writing these as I'm waking up. Your mind seems to free-associate more.

Music news. Busy busy. I've been making more music here in the Lab. And today looks like it's gonna follow suit. Sooner or later, I'll remix all this mess, and whatever survives I'll be glad to share. Might even put together another album before the end of the year. Funny thing about one's creations. Since they're so completely subjective, I have to let them "air out" awhile before I can take a fresh look --or fresh listen, as it were. Your end result is often quite different from what you'd thought.

Thinking of a quote I read somewhere about the work of Edgar Allan Poe. We can't separate his genius from his fudge, or his fudge from his genius. Neither is it a foregone conclusion which is which.

Cool, huh? I always liked that one, and found it very applicable to my own work.

Skimpy as it is, that's my news for the day. I feel like I've settled deeper into retirement with the Pandemic- or maybe semi-retirement. Still an active musician, just doing it all from home. At least for the time being. . My whole "gig circuit"-which was Robbie's and the Nursing Homes- was wiped out, so I don't have a 'scene' to return to. When things start to normalize again- yes, a VACCINE- I do plan on getting some musician-types over here.

Okay. Thanks as ever for stopping in and reading. Happy Monday to you! For now, I'm outa here. More later.

PS Today's pic goes back to 1989 or so. I played bass every Saturday night with the Fred Beck Quartet at the Sangamo Club. Just happened to get in a picture with Stormin' Norman here.
