Good morning! Twas the night before Christmas, and all through the house, not a creature was stirring- not even a mouse!
And that's all I remember. It's Thursday, just a shade after ten. 16 degrees out last time I checked. Today and tomorrow are supposed to be cold as all getout, so I'm ready for my 2-day hibernation. This is where you really appreciate being retired. Hibernation is always an option..
Music news. Still on a pretty good roll with the guitar. I've got a couple new cuts to add to YouTube. One is some funky stuff with the Telecaster guitar, and the other is a pretty fair rendition of Perdido. To get the most out of it, I still have to practice, still have to work with the metronome and do the "gnarly" picking exercises, even after 54 years of playing . But if you hang in there, you're "rewarded" eventually with better facility. Which makes you want to practice even more..
As far as recordings, I have a few things up my sleeve for 2021. But I'm more concerned with all the stuff I turned out this year. There are a couple of fusion/smooth jazz/eclectic things: New Day, at our crossing place, Indian Summer; some "wacky' electronic stuff: Garden of Sonic Delights; And some good old straight-ahead jazz: Near-Miracle on 33rd Street.
CD Baby used to automatically make a website for every album sold though them, but now it's farmed out to another company called Hear Now. For $24 per year, you can rent a website from any of your wares up on CD Baby. At $24 a pop, I'm taking my time. But I do have one for one of my CDs: Near-Miracle on 33rd Street. I try and share that every other day or so on Facebook.
Like most everybody else on the planet, I'm looking forward to things opening back up. The first thing I want back is some semblance of a social life, something I was working on before this all happened. Once that's in place, then we'll see about playing someplace. In the meantime, I'm gonna keep doing what I'm doing with YouTube and my website and so forth, sharing everything I think you guys might like.. Still here, just not "on the scene'"..
